weaning 6mg total, 2mgs 3 times a day

I am currently taking 6mg total of valium 3 times a day 2mg at 8am, 2mg at 4pm and 2mg at midnight(exactly 8 hours apart). I have a pill cutter and am starting a reduction at 4pm of .5 mg. per day.

    What is confusing me is the best way to wean around 10% per day for 10-20 days then reduce another 10% until I'm done with the whole project  and the .5mg is close to 10% of the total 6mgs. I want a slow taper, but since this is all new to me(first and only(and last) experience with benzos) I'm not sure how to co-ordinate the individual 3 med times with the big picture being the total of 6mg per day. Sounds like you're planning ahead for your taper which is the right way to do it. 5 - 10% reductions are a good guide for withdrawing.
