Seroquel - Valium

Due to a very bad taper from Seroquel which i had to stop and reinstate as it gave me worse symptoms then benzo-withdrawal, i have taken extra doses of Valium a couple of days on and off. I am praying to God that this has not totally ruined my taper. Anybody with experience with this ?

I would have advised you to not try and taper two drugs at the same time. Since you only updosed for two days, it should be OK to go back where you were. However, I don't know how much more you took. I too, was having a terrible time getting off  Seroquel, even by tiny amounts. It was far worse than benzos. I watched a YouTube video made by Gwen Olsen, a former pharma sales rep, and she said it's nearly impossible to get off APs. She said the only way to do so is by titrating. If it were me (and it is) I would get rid of the benzos first and then titrate off the Seroquel. She added that ALL psychiatrist drugs are addictive and it has been proven in many clinical trials that about 95% of the patients in these trials found no more relief when taking an AD, to those taking a sugar pill. She said ADs just don't work, except for people who have severe depression.  She said for those with mild to moderate depression, the real cure is to exercise. And the other 5% find relief because they actually feel the AD is working because they believe taking a pill is a cure all, but it's not. She said it's just a mind set and the pill does not actually work, but they think it does. *** An update I just found out. It seems that Gwen Olsen has ties to Scientology, so take her with a grain of salt. However, I think polydrugging people on a long term or permanent basis is cause for concern. Especially with kids. Thank you for your replies. I will stick with Seroquel and wait to taper more from Valium until i feel more stable. You are absolutely right about not tapering from two drugs at the same time. I did so because my psychiatrist said i could taper it without any problems. She was wrong. I got real bad anxiety which thank God seems to level out now that i am back up on 300 mg Seroquel. My only other concern is that i have been unstable (again) with taking the valium doses. I will try and stick with 17,5 and hope this works.
