I'm just wondering how many you on here have also taken an AD at some time in your life? I took paxil for 7 years. I quit it 6 years ago. I wonder if having taken an ssri makes this process harder for us.

Hi,

 

I took various a/d's for 15 years, most recently citalopram which I'm almost off of now.  I'm down to "crumbs" after a very slow taper, which has gone very smoothly.  I don't know if it helped or hindered my benzo withdrawal - it may have helped because it's a sedating type of a/d, and my worst symptom was anxiety.  I'll never know, but I'll be glad to be off it....
