In some cases, it can be. But you also have to factor in how much you are on and for how long.

I had no problem with taking Seroquel for a few months after my 2009 detox, and I had no problems tapering off it.

In my opinion a serequel is nowhere the beast that benzodiazepines are. I think in low doses for sleep it is ok. I was able to withdraw from 800-1000 mg a day in less than a month. The only real symptom I had was not sleeping well, so I reinstated to 50 mg a night for sleep. I had no idea until a pharmacist told me that serequel is sedating only at a low dose. I slept horrible for years on benzos and that jumbo dose of 800 mg serequel (which was given to me for sleep) . I don't have any plans right now with the 50 mg dose because it works!!!! I have never slept better in my whole life.
