How can I get a proper tapering schedule?

I'm only asking this because I'm just dropping off Depakote ER right now.  I know this isn't a Depakote ER withdrawal forum, but within the next 2 to 4 weeks I will have to start coming off the 3mg Klonopin.  I know I cannot switch to Valium or any other benzo.  My pill cutter can only cut the 1mg pills to .25mg.  So what exactly am I supposed to do?

i was dropping 250 mg every 5 days or so, can't recall anymore,,,such a traumatising experience,,,,

but i red about depacote taper  that correct taper is

250 mg drop every 2-4 weeks!!!!

Thanks for your reply.  I remember being yanked off 1000mg of regular Depakote to 0mg many years ago and that caused an inpatient hospitalization.  I think the Depakote ER is easier to get off of because it lasts so long in the body.  Right now I'm doing ok with the drop from 1250mg to 1000mg, but once I hit 750mg I'll be below "therapeutic range" and that's when things can go really wrong.

yea,,,i m also dry cutting my 2 mg klonopin,,,,i cut 0,5 mg into two 0,25mg

 

then i crush 0,25 into a powder and divide it into 4 piles ,,,so its my everyday dosage 0,06 mg....

 

in one week i will be dividing it into 8 piles = 0,03 mg......

 

 

this whole procedure makes me feel so wrong,,,like I'm about to sniff my cocke dose and get HIGH!!!!!

Really IMO the best way to deal with K is to liquify it.  When you do that the problems of inconvenient pill sizes go away.  There are various ways to do this, but one easy way is to put the pill into whole milk.

 

Another thing people do is use a scale and file and weigh the pills.

Personally I don't like the scale/filing method.  I think the best scale is to "liquify."

 

However, if you go to the Klonopin Klub support thread there are people there who could advise you.  It is a 3 digit gram scale.  And for filing you can use an emery board or nail file to shave small amounts.

Pill cutters fail at cutting accurate amounts. Once you get a .001 gram scale, you'll realize this. At some point, you may want .50 mg Klonopin to cut and shave. After you get to .25 mg doses, liquid tapering might be best, depending on your ability to stay close to the fridge and/or consume milk.
