Muscle spasms under the chin

I'm going on my 6th week off of Xanax. About 2 weeks ago I got a spasm under my chin after yawning. I have been having strange sensations under my tongue and in the chin area since. Has anyone had similar experiences?

I am 3-1/2 weeks off and am struggling with a lot of pressure on the right side of my head, throat, and tongue.....doesn't seem like spasms, more like an off and on solid pressure though.

If you get a spasm after yawning that's normal! Not withdrawal. I get those alllll the time. Way before withdrawal. One time I got it at the dentist after my mouth was frozen and it scared me. I didn't know if it was over and obviously since I didn't fell the pain, just the tightness, that I would accidentsllt fuck up the muscles lol

One time I was trying to dig something out of my teeth with my tongue and I swear I literally sprained my tongue from the force of it....that hurt like a bugger and felt really weird, like it was half paralyzed.  It went away after a few moments.  This was all pre-benzo and I've only ever had it happen that one time!

Thanks for the replies. I still have strange sensations in the lower jaw area and my chin. It has a slight numb feeling around the chin. I'm going to see if a chiropractor can do an adjustment. Maybe it's TMJ but it seems too coincidental that I'm having withdrawal and this too.

Twitchings, numbness and weird sensation in chin, tongue, jaw and other places in the face is all withdrawal symptoms. You name it, I had it. I am so used to it now, I don't even notice it. Yesterday I had a weird sensation around the nose. A  couple of weeks ago my chin was twitching. My jaw often hurts after eating and laughing. It comes and goes, but its getting better every day.
