My beautiful broken brain

This article made me cry... I can relate to so much of it, and yet this level of brain damage far exceeds my own. Be sure and watch the video as well.

There is also this TED talk by Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, a neuroanatomist who had a stroke and could not walk, talk, read, write, or recall any of her life. It took eight years for her to completely recover all of her physical function and thinking ability, but she did recover. The brain's ability to heal and transform us for the better is incredible.
