Sweating odor...

Hi, a bit embarrassing question...  :-[ is it posible that during the w/d the the sweating smell is a bit stronger than usual? I've never smelled bad or sweated too much, but since I started with the taper, and also since I started the sulpiride, I feel that the smell is stronger... I shower everyday and use deodorant so everything is ok (is almost inapreciable, only if I smell it directly and without deodorant). But I don't know, is like a different smell! like metallic ??? someone realized about this? or know that could be normal? maybe is just my imagination or that i'm more sensible with the smells now...

All I can say is that I have had smell distortions the whole time of tapering, and even a little before. It is weird almost chemical smell that I smell mostly involving my body, sweat, urine, feces, etc. Sometimes I smell it other places but mostly in relation to my own body. Sometimes  it lets up and I can smell normally for a week or few days, then it's back. I have asked my wife repeatedly if my smell has changed in the past year at all, and she says no. So it has got to be this damn drug withdrawal.

I've just found this in the Ashton Manual: "Many people complain of a metallic taste in the mouth and several notice strange, unpleasant, smells which seem to emanate from the body. These sensations, including an unpleasant smell (which usually no-one else can detect) have been described in anxiety states in the absence of benzodiazepines. Like insomnia and panics, they are probably reflections of heightened activity in the central nervous system."

But I notice it when I smell it directly (yes, I touch my armpit or groin and then smell the hand  :idiot:), and smells much more stronger and like metallic... very weird. Could it also be because of the detox of the body? or the liver?

As Ashton says, heightened activity in CNS. Meaning, your sniffer is extra sensitive and you are smelling something very real to you. Which means, it's your reality, and that's ok. Many of your senses are heightened in ways that others do not confirm.

Heightened sense of smell. And I also feel like I stink.

Yes. You now have a very strong sensitivity to smell. It can also happen with sight, sounds etc. Nobody can smell you but you. Except for a dog of course.

Bomb and Drug sniffers at the airport.  We could put some canines out of business.  I make my husband wash his hands three times if he washed with softsoap at the office the smell of it is so offensive to me.  I also think I stink more--could be all the night sweats in addition to the super hero smeller.  I also wear sunglasses to watch TV now. Don't look cool just stupid but my eyes don't hurt.
