Uncontrollable emotions is this normal..?

I've started tapering at a rapid rate and I find my emotions very unstable lately, I feel like I'm gonna lose it sometimes. All day I feel agitated, and lately I have these uncontrollable crying spells in between my doses. As a guy it's embarrassing to suddenly break down crying every day, when I haven't cried in nearly 5 years. Is this normal when w/d?

Hi and yes it's very common. Benzos don't care what gender you are and crying happens a lot for some people.  Everything you mention is normal for w/d. You also need to consider how your "Valium Equivalent" dose of benzos has changed over time and how that can in some cases increase w/d by changing doses.

0.5 mg of Ativan = 5 mg of Valium

2 mg of Klonopin = 40 mg of Valium

1.5 mg of Ativan = 15 mg of Valium

Ashton Manual suggests a taper rate of 5% to 10% every 10 to 14 days and many people find that too fast.

Once you get off the drug and heal your emotions will be in check again.

Take care, mandala

It's the Ativan I'm the same way.  I wasn't like this on klonopin or any other benzo.  Ativan is poison.  They all are.

Hope you feel better soon.
