Considering switching back to xanax to finish taper, valium made it worse.

I wish I would of never crossed over to Valium.  I've never recovered since the crossover. Had I just stayed with xanax the rest of the way out I would of been benzo free by now. Valium has just made W/D so much more potent, as I know I'm still W/Ding from the xanax. I'm currently at 5.32mg of Valium (equivalent to .25 of xanax) and only reducing by 0.01 a day and I'm still in hell. I'm considering adding back in .125 of xanax and leaving 3mg of valium. I honestly don't know what other option I have. Clearly my body does not metabolize valium the way it did xanax for a decade. I'm just so sick of all of this, I really feel like this is the only way to go.

Anyone with opinion's on the matter?

That makes sense.  I know I tried to switch from Ativan to Valium and every benzo under the sun and nothing would cover the potency of ativan which sickens me but it's the way it is.

I actually did a saliva spit test a few months ago that is able to tell you which drugs you metabolize best so doctors know what to give you. All benzos were in the positive for me other than valium, which means my body doesn't metabolize valium like it would xanax, Ativan, Klonopin etc. I had already started on Valium though and stopped the xanax. According to that test Valium probably is not the way to go for me, but who knows!

I know others say to take vitamin c through taper but I disagree unless I'm sick and need it because Vitamin C is an antitoxin. It clears out the liver through the P450 enzyme which is the same enzyme benzos pass through which means it's detoxing out the benzo quicker than they should be.

I'll def let you know how it goes. Still up in the air, waiting for a few more folks to chime in with their opinions, but I'm sure if I was able to C/O to Valium after over a decade on Xanax. I'm sure after being on Valium just since August I can handle switching right back to Xanax.

How long were you on the Valium before switching back? I've been on it since August which makes me a bit nervous to switch back.

Do you have chamomile tea? If not do you have anyone who can bring you some. Believe me I know this state of absolute terror that your in right now. Chamomile tea, it will take just enough edge off. Trust me please.

I did as well back in August, but it's like my body has never stopped withdrawing from the xanax. I also know my body doesn't metabolize valium the same way it does xanax. Hopefully that will be different for you. Knowing what I know now with milk titration etc I would have never crossed over to Valium. I could of split up my dose of xanax through milk titration even at a low dose of .25. Either way I'm near the end of the finish line. I Just think the xanax will suit me best. Not so sure just yet tho.

That thought never occurred to me. Thanks for the tip and I am so sorry you are going through such an inhumane process. I guess I'll have to go through double withdrawal too.
