Vistoril: any comments or experiences with this?

Any advice/experiences with Vistoril? This is the only med I am still on, having been started on it in the hospital. I only take it at night to help with sleep but feel certain it is contributing to my mental confusion. I stopped taking it about two weeks ago and developed problems  at about the fifth day and had to go back to taking it at night. I really want to be off of everything but this is twice now I've tried stopping it then ended up whiggin' out....(I am 7 months out)

taper off it over a few days...you'll be fine! they say there is no withdrawal but I found that there is some minor issues when you stop taking it. Nothing like acute withdrawal but just some discomfort. All tolerabld. Best of luck

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. Have been off of it for almost a month now. I would have to say that was my experience. Things were a bit dicey for the first two or three weeks but I decided to try and tough it out.  It's sort of hard to tell what's what with this whole mess, but I can say with confidence that getting off of the Vistaril has really helped.

Hi there,

 

I take vistaril occasionally to assist with sleep. As far as I am aware vistaril isn't addictive but I dont take it every night because of the tolerance issue, sometimes I can go a few weeks without taking the vistaril and I have no problems with withdrawal issues.
