Anti-Psychotic drugs

I stopped taking benzos cold turkey about 4 years ago. It took 30 months until I completely felt non-symptomatic. I am not sure what triggered but recently I have had a lot of head pressure, ear-ringing, trouble with my balance and trouble with my vision focusing. I am absolutely terrified to go through what I went through again. My family recently called 911 due to having suicidal ideations where I was admitted to the hospital for in inpatient behavioral stay. There I was probated to take Haldol. I am freaking out about if this is going to set me back. Has anyone had an experiences with taking these type of drugs while going through withdrawal?

I have been taking a similar anti-psychotic, Stelazine, while in withdrawal and have taken Haldol in the past.

Both these drugs caused me muscle tension and also akathisia, which can be experienced as anxiety and might seem similar to benzo withdrawal. I take another drug procyclidine, which is an anticholinergic drug, to relieve that. I don't know if it would affect you this far out. More serious is tardive dyskinesia which is a risk in the long term.

When I stopped Haldol in the past I got nausea and vomiting. I also got a lot of nausea when I stopped benzos, so that is another possible area of interaction.

Higher doses slowed up my thoughts a great deal and made my mood flat. But lower doses relieved anxiety for me.

Compared to other anti-psychotics that I've taken, these are not sedative and didn't increase my appetite or cause weight gain.

If it was me, and I'd managed so far without it, I wouldn't start now.
