Updose on Diazepam to taper Lisinopril?

I went into withdrawal due to non-availability of TEVA Clonazepam that I was on for several years. I eventually got it, but by then had gone into w/d that has not improved/stabilized for 2 months. My blood pressure is high and labile, and is improving very slowly on its own. I need to switch BP drugs, as the Lisinopril - whose sub-clinical dose I am currently on - is cross-tolerant with Diazepam, besides having debilitating cardiovascular and CNS side-effects. The cross-tolerance has made getting off it a slow taper; Before the inadvertant Clonazepam W/D in September started, I was tapering Lisinopril slowly and went from 20mg to 1.4mg, at which point I got hit hard by w/d, thus unable to complete the taper. I needed advice if anyone has used a benzodiazepine to get off a blood-pressure drug - in particular Lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor. My PCP says to just switch drugs, but due to cross-tolerance of Lisinopril with Diazepam, I know that this cannot be safe. So I am wondering if there is a way to work out a sort of equivalence relationship between Lisinopril and Diazepam to do the cross-over with. Any ideas, suggestions, experience shared will be gratefully appreciated. I am also desperately searching for a good BP drug. I read that ARBs do not cross blood-brain barrier, and so am thinking would probably interfere less, or at least not cross-tolerate with the benzos I am on (Clonazepam, Diazepam). Could anyone who has tried Diovan (Valsartan) and/or Cozaar (Losartan), please share if they experienced any problems in benzo taper while on these ARBs? I am completely non-functional, and have to do something about the BP, even if it means updosing on the benzo. I am so thankful this forum exists and there are people here that can give generous and meaningful advice and support.
