I have taken 0.5mg clonazepam since December 2012. Cut down to 0.375mg and then crossed over to 6.0mg diazepam in July 2014. Switched to liquid diazepam (5mg/5ml) in October when I hit 2mg. Have tapered down to 1.2mg but got destroyed with panic, insomnia and depression, and am currently updosing as of 11/11/14.

Hi, 1John19.

Welcome to benzobuddies. Glad you found us.  :)

You will find a lot of information and support here.  I'm sorry you're struggling so much right now. It sounds like you really did some research before you began your taper. Having to updose is not unusual. Please don't get discouraged.

A good resource about benzodiazepines is the Ashton Manual. Here is a link to the manual: Professor Ashtons Manual  It’s great for learning about these meds and for taper plans. Ashton recommends reducing between 5 - 10% every 10/14 days.

You'll find a great community of people here who will support and encourage you. Feel free to check out the forum and to post to any of the dedicated boards.

In addition to the Ashton Manual, here are some other resources:

For information and support from fellow buddies who have crossed over from Clonazepam to Diazepam, please post here:

Substitution Taper Plans

For support with any symptoms you may have, post here: Withdrawal Support

Please add a signature (history of medication/doses etc). It will help members give you relevant advice. This link will show you how to Create a signature

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Welcome  :) congratulations on your taper so far. It sounds like it has been ok up until your last cut. Although I did not taper I have heard from other members that the last part of a taper is the most difficult. All the symptoms you describe are classic symptoms of withdrawal. I think it was a good idea to up dose. Personally, if it was me, I would stabilize before another cut and would probably slow down my taper.
