Help to withdraw from Temazepam please

Hi there

I was here around about August time, asking what drug to withdraw from 1st- temazepam or tramadol? Thanks who helped at the time because I`m now 2 weeks free from tramadol. 

 

Now though I`ve got the big problem of Temazepam. I`m prescribed 20mg per day but I`d become tolerant and was using 30 mg to get the same effect.  So I was left with half a month of no drug and terrible withdrawals.

I saw a GP who filled my prescription early and an extra months worth so that I could titrate slowly down.  I asked for diazepam to help but the GP think I`m strong enough to do this without it.

But I`m suffering badly and wondered if you guys could help me please.

I`m waking with nausea, sweats and dizziness. The nausea and sweats get better by lunchtime but the dizziness carries on all day. I`m down to 15 mg per day but topped back up for one night to 20 mg to ease my miserable symptoms- and sure enough all of those symptoms disappeared yesterday- which has convinced me that these are withdrawal symptoms. 

I went back to the 15mg last night and sure enough, I`m feeling nausea, sweaty, and dizzy again today!

Can anyone advice me on what to do please- the meds come in 20mg and I`m splitting them to get the 15 mg- but I don`t think I can split them accurately to make a smaller cut.

I`ve also been diagnosed with Graves disease ( over-active thyroid) and am struggling with that, so any help would be really appreciated.

Congratulations on coming off Tramadol. That's great news.

 

You mentioned that all of the withdrawal effects left when you upped the Temazepam to 20 mg. You may want to stabilize at 20 mg and then start a 5 - 10% taper from that dose. Hopefully this will minimize the withdrawal.
