Hi cheeker.  Welcome to the forum, we're glad you found us!  Here are a few links you'll find useful:

Withdrawal Support (during your taper).

The Ashton Manual is an authoritative source on what to expect in withdrawal and recovery.  Dr. Ashton is an expert in the field.  She describes and explains withdrawal symptoms, and there is also a section with withdrawal/taper schedules.

Please take the time to Create a Signature.  This will allow others to see where you are in the process so they can better support you.

Again, welcome!

Hello cheeker,

I too would like to welcome you to the forum  :)

Congratulations on your taper so far! You'll be given plenty of support and also tapering assistance if need be for the rest of the journey to being benzo free. That's great news that you are following Dr Ashton's protocol for tapering, most members taper this way but we sometimes find that rate a bit quick when we reach the lower doses in which case we slow down our taper rates. A good tip is to listen to how your body reacts to the cuts, if you are feeling a little too symptomatic it is usually a good indication that you are tapering too quickly, slowing down the taper rate usually resolves this.

I'm glad you found us and I wish you success with the taper.

Thanks Debbie,

I've noticed that it is getting more difficult as I taper off 2 mg valium. It's tough to cut the pills really small and my doctor doesn't seem interested in giving me liquid valium.

I'm trying to hang on and be strong, though.

Thanks Megan, I see you've successfully got off Xanax. Congratulations, I find this very encouraging.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Hi cheeker and welcome!

This is still the Introductions thread.  If you click one of the links Megan posted at the top, it will take you to another board where you can post to all the members.  Not many people will be reading here.
