Am I going too slow?

My initial horrible acute withdraws from when I went to 2.5-3 mg of Xanax a day for two months down to 1.5 mg are all but gone. No anxiety, sleep well, my energy level is fine. Almost symptom free. The only thing that still bothers me is I still have a mild weak feeling in my left hand, but my right hand has improved a lot. I feel no symptoms at all , most of the time, when I am working because I am distracted.

I think the wise thing to do is continue my slow taper of .0625 per week and look to jump in about 4 months from now, but worry that I am may somehow make it harder to come off later on if I taper too slowly? May I become more dependent or tolerance kick in?

On the other hand, I don't want to go too fast because I don't want any of the really bad symptoms to return.

God bless you all.

I doubt if you will make yourself more dependent/tolerant tapering slowly given that you took these meds for several years.  If you had taken the pills only for a month or three, there might be more reason for concern.  Probably good to take it nice and slow.

no one ever complained about a slow taper..............it's the fast ones that are problematic.....and it's only the slow tapers for short term users that are also problematic. I did a slow taper and i am so glad i was able to function for most of it
