Vision loss

Over the past 2 years my vision has become bad. I went to the eye doctor because of eye pain and had a through exam. Nothing wrong except I've become nearsighted. I always had better than 20/20 vision up until about 1.5 to 2 years ago. I had to get glasses and this whole time I thought it was just withdrawal. Is it just withdrawal or is it because I'm getting old like the doctor said lol? Maybe both? He said I don't need to wear them all the time but as soon as I take them off my right eye starts to hurt. I really hate wearing them and I mean hate!

Good morning Cool,

I have noticed that my vision has become much worse in the passed few months. I m certain it s from the benzos and withdrawal. I have my readers on right now and I m seeing very blurry....I m not having the pain however and I m sorry you have that as well... :( Is there anything the GABA s do NOT affect?? Here s hoping for a bright window for all of us today..hang in there BB...

Hi,

Vision changes are quite common as one gets older, I don't know how old you are but this often starts in the 40's.  Of course, for many it starts well before that. I went from having better than 20/20 vision (in my 20's) to needing glasses for distance (30's) to not needing glasses for distance anymore (40's), to needing them for reading(50's),to really needing them to see anything at all up close.  I'm in my mid 60's now....

Such is life.... :smitten:

Mary, it's been a long hard journey so far. I could be worse but I wish I was better. I still have constant burning from my knees down to my feet, anxiety, tinnitus, cog fog, adrenaline surges, no emotions and my the eyes. Oh well that's life I guess. Hope you are doing well.

I'm 7-8 months from my jump - throughout my taper and withdrawal I definitely can gauge whether I'm in a wave or a window by my vision. In a window today - went outside and was completely shocked at how beautiful the world is. Crystal clear with amazing detail. In a wave, I'm cross-eyed and fuzzy.

My first week on Klonopin, I was completely crossed-eyed. My doctor told me not to worry. I should have realized then, what a complete idiot he was. 17 years later I'm figuring it all out.

Cool, bad vision is quite common during wd. we have Gabaas in the retina of our eyes.

one member told me when wd was over, her vision was perfect again and the colours looked

ever so beautiful, she couldn't believe. :)
