Does a slower taper prevent insomnia?

I think taper rate correlates to insomnia.  It is such a common symptom and it seems to me that everyone has insomnia to some degree, even if they go slow.  But I think the faster you go the more sleep is disrupted.

In my experience, the smaller the dose cut, the better my sleep was.

^^ This. Every time I'd get cocky and try to increase my cut rate I'd get hit with insomnia. However, sometimes insomnia would ramp up for no apparent reason. It does appear to be one of the most common s/x of tapering. The trick is to try to find things that help. I alternated doxylamine and an amitriptyline AD every 4-5 days when I was having a lot of trouble sleeping.

Sleep does get better though. I'm 3 months off, and my sleep is almost normal. A few nights here and there that are a bit tricky, but it's a lot better than it was.
