Exercise during withdrawal

[Th...]

Recommended Posts

Before withdrawal, i exercised 5 times a week.  Weights, kickboxing, bootcamp etc.  since i started tapering i really haven't exercised much.  I still eat fairly clean, but i am gaining weight.

How is everyone doing with exercise?  Would i feel better if i pushed myself more?  Or would it make things worse? Thx in advance!

I'm early into mine, but am noticing it tough to get moving. I'm actually a little nervous given I have a foggy brain and to execute lifts means thinking. That said, I'm bound and determined to get a solid lifting session in today.

I gained 30 pounds during my w/d. I could not exercise. Everytime I tried it would go well for a few days and then I would be thrown into a wave. You have to remember that you are in a deficient state and your body needs a lot of energy to repair itself. Pushing yourself in w/d is not the same as pushing yourself in normal life. It will be energy taken away from healing and that is your primary goal.  I was able to start exercising again a couple months before I jumped and have continued to do so. I fee GREAT afterwards. Even when I push myself, I feel the benefits. Before when I pushed myself I paid.

You have to trial and error exercising and decide for yourself. Try it a few times and see how your body responds. If over a few weeks, on average you felt better and benefited from it then continue to do so and monitor your reactions. Some people have benefited greatly from it. I read that when Eminem was w/ding her ran 10 or more miles a day! He said it saved him. Others on here have felt the same way. While others have been unable to even take a walk. Its personal. Just like w/d. We each react differently.

Good luck.......and btw...the weight just peeled off of me in a few months of exercising again.

I was able to exercise, but had to tone down the exertion level.  Same mileage, but a little slower.  I also had to limit my exercise to pretty early in the day.  Going to the gym after work really revved me up, and I had difficulty sleeping.

exercise helps for me.It can rev me up for a bit but that will subside.

I don't exercise the week I cut.(apart from a 2 mile dog walk a day)

Start slow and see how you go.

Small

Completely agree with Badsocref, I used to exercise for at least an hour after work, 6 days a week. Not anymore. Just half of an hour at about 5 AM if I feel OK...OK equals to " no than bad"...i moved the spinning bike next to my bed...mostly 3 times a week.  :-[
