Who feels this? (sex)

A free floating mental anguish that is hard to describe.  Sort of a bereavement type of feeling...for no reason.

Do you feel this?  Does it eventually pass?

I decided to add sex in the title to see if I get more responses. :).  Moderators, please don't ban me.

What trick...

(sex) in the headline Jerry. Couldn't resist looking at the post. Most people here are against antipsychotics, but I truly believe that taking seroquel has made me symptom free. Also, the slow taper helps a lot.... Seroquel really gets rid of all anxiety and insomnia, plus I lot of other w/d that I would probably have by now.

Benzogirl,

I sure hope you have a smooth ride all the way down from your V! I would hate to see you get slammed...it would be a tragedy! You ve been so blessed so far with your taper, I want to see you be ok all the way down  :smitten:

LOL! The title got me, too, jerryk.  :D

To answer your question,  a lot of people feel like that. I did, and I have read countless posts saying something very similar.

You know, each person seems to have a set of symptoms which are the worst for them. Depression and feeling cut off seems to be two of yours. This doesn't "mean" anything - it just is.

It helped me a lot to read about what causes our symptoms. It put things in perspective, at least for me.

Lately it goes like this...

6-9AM. serious mental anguish.  Like universal pain...odd....

Take Xanax

10-12. Less mental anguish...maybe more anxiety..

Take Xanax

1-4. Better, perhaps more functional....

Take Xanax

4-11 better, less anguish, sometimes normal by 6-7 PM

G:

TY. I love all of the support you have given me this past year throughout my journey. Especially that you take the time out to be cheerful under your currently bad condition. I hope that goes away. I think it will once you finish. 14 to go G! Many hugs, Bets, who is one healthy gal right now! Praying that the V won't knock me on my knees.

Ha Ha :) I know a lot of folks are against antipsychotics.    I take a very low of Risperdone at night and I sleep.  I am intrigued by Seroquel because of it's anti anxiety properties.

Did u have serious anxiety before Seroquel?  It is highly advertised for that.

Personally, I'd eat dog crap if it made me feel better.:()

Jerry:

I actually spoke to an FDA manager last week and he told me that the pharma which is producing Seroquel XR has requested that it be approved by the FDA as an anti anxiety drug. They are taking it into consideration. But making the XR version makes no sense to me at all, as it has the same half life of the regular Seroquel, which is what I take.

And no Jerry, who would have anxiety when they were on 10 mg of K? More like a zombie to me. But he gave it to me nonetheless, because he knew I would develop anxiety once I began my taper as I have a pre existing dx for it. Plenty of dog crap here Jerry. Help yourself.  :smitten:

Hmm, a mental anguish that is difficult to describe - yea I feel that way toward sex!  :)

Ok no, I'm exaggerating - sex is not that bad, but I don't the interest I'd like to, because in all seriousness, yes, I do very often feel this anguish and depression. I feel so isolated, because I can't pinpoint what is wrong, there is no problem to fix, or explain to a loved one. There's simply mental torment that seems to have no end.

Very astutely put...there is no problem to fix or solve...

Yep, that looks just like Xanax...

I was the same on Ativan, the other "short-acting" benzo.

My anxiety went away within days of switching to Valium.  What heavenly relief!  And I've not had trouble with it since.

But I do think some people can get very attached to that roller coaster ride, especially when they are getting what is professionally called "secondary benefits" from it.
