Hi YY Fang

Welcome to Benzobuddies

Congratulations on being benzo free. I am sorry your still experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Some of us take longer to heal than others, it was 2 years for me.  It can take quite some time for the CNS to recover. I will put a link to the Ashton manual here for you: Professor Ashtons Manual It is an authoritative resource on benzodiazepines and withdrawals

Please feel free to post to any of the dedicated boards,  we have a wonderful community of people here. Members have been through all aspects of benzodiazepine use and withdrawal and are more than willing to share their experiences.

Here are a few links for you:

If you would be so kind as to add a signature (history of meds/doses etc) it will help members give you relevant advice this link will show you how to Create a signature

Please let us know If you have any questions.

Welcome Aboard

Hello yy fang,

I too would like to welcome you to the forum  :)

Congratulations on being 19 months benzo free!

I'm sorry to hear you are still suffering but as others have said this isn't unheard of, sadly a full recovery from long term benzo use can take many months for some. I'm 17 months benzo free myself and I'm not healed yet, I can see good improvements from when I was first benzo free but I'm not fully recovered. What helps me most is trying to distract from the symptoms as much as I can plus I try to accept that healing will happen when the time is right. I know that it's very difficult to try to accept this especially if one is suffering but my experience has been that if I do get upset and agitated this makes everything worse and I notice a rev up in symptoms so, for me, acceptance does help.

Mornings are difficult for many members, they are my worse time of day. I think this is due to high cortisol and low blood sugar. I will give you a link to a thread where morning anxiety is discussed, sometimes it helps to understand why these things happen :

All of the symptoms you are describing sound like common withdrawal effects, I've had all of these myself but if you would like feedback about these or any other symptoms please dont hesitate to post questions on The Post Withdrawal support board, Magrita has given you a link to it.

I'm glad you found us and I hope that full healing, for you, is not too far away.

Debbie

Thank you Deborah,Morreweg, Magrita for replying to me.  :) I am super lonely with the w/d symptoms, it is so nice to have you to give encouragements and help.  When you recovered from w/d, how did it happened? Is it one day wake up and gone? How long does it take to get to the finish line. Do you also have many mental symptoms?
