If I were to taper, which benzo to choose ?

On 2 mg clonazepam for years. Original use: muscle relaxant.

Plenty of physical 'issues'.

Tapering clonazepam appears impossible.

If I were to choose a taper, which benzo should I switch to ? Librium is a common option.

What about clobazam, or a different benzodiazepine ? Diazepam is really hard to tolerate.

Got it.  You have a problem with the med itself.  So K is out.

If a change is made most switch to V.  But if that is also a problem then I would say Librium is the next most common.  Ashton does mention Librium as an option in her manual.  I think it might only be available in capsule form?  There are other benzos with the right profile for tapering, but we have little experience with them here at BB.

Please tell me of these benzos with the right profile for tapering :)

I'd just like to know.

Also, I'm concerned about any other benzo than clonazepam causing intestinal distress - clonazepam itself is bad enough. We're talking about dynamics of muscle tension/contraction/fluids/blood flow (??)

A benzo that does not distribute to fat the way diazepam or Librium does might be interesting.

Btw, what about clobazam ? I'm not even sure if it's a benzo !

This pretty much sums them up for half life and potency.  Looks like clobazam is too short acting.

If you mean half life and if you believe the chart, it´s close to clonazepam-

Still interested in those ´other benzos´. Or were you just referring to benzodiazepines with a long half life ?

He means you need a longer half life of the drug because a short acting benzo is difficult to taper off. Too bad you can't take valium, as it's the best choice by many. Librium is also long acting but it's a weak drug. I take Valium with no problem at all. I C/O from Klonopin, which also didn't bother me. You must be med sensitive.
