No crying

I have not been able to cry since my ct. Sometimes a little, 3 tears maybe and then it stops. Connection between brain, face, lungs, feelings in stomach, all things that are part of crying seem to be broken. Anyone?

As I quit my ad (after taper) 6 weeks before benzo I am not sure if it is benzo or ad or both.

Feel like a robot.

Emotional numbness is really, really common in withdrawal. Its either extremely out of whack, or extremely suppressed. You will get your emotions back, though! That was one of my first symptoms to come back! :) And GABA receptors are in all parts of your body. So, thats why we get these strange sensations. None of it dangerous, but it can sure trick you into thinking it is. Haha.

And AD and Benzos have a very similar withdrawal. Its hard to tell. How did you feel before quitting the benzo?

Dear Vanille, just checked your posts, you were not on a Benzo but Mirtazapine, is that right ?

I was on mirtazapine and clonazepam and lormetazepam.

I quit mirtazapine after tapering. In that period I found Benzobuddies. So my first postings were about the mirt.

I did not feel well, still symptoms, but my eyes looked alive. Mirror of the soul.

I have emotional numbness as well. My children have sobbed in front of me and I have not been able to shed a tear. When I got some natural sleep about a month ago, I was crying every day. Then after a couple of weeks the sleep stopped and now I am numb again.

I am unable to cry as well. my emotions are pretty much flat. however, I am able to laugh and smile quite a bit  since I am no longer on Ativan. Prior to stopping it had been two years since I smiled or laughed.
