Valium taper - Once again

[mi...]

Recommended Posts

Hi, I know i said i would stop tapering for a while, but i will try to get down to 10 mg of valium and stay there. I have tapered from 15 to 12,5. I'm on my fifth day, and it hasn't been too bad yet. I've had two anxiety attacks, but i have followed your guide to not take an extra pill but try to cope and find a way to live through the attacks. I have learned something new. It seems like the attacks seem to come in the morning, stay for a couple of hours before they level out. The feeling of them leveling out on their own, has been a new experience for me. This shows that anxiety can come and go, and that they don't stay there all the time. Thank you for giving me your comments. I will really try not to take anything extra this time. I have given all my pills to my wife so that i can't find them. Since i am addicted, i cannot keep them myself.

Sounds like you have a newer positive attitude, and that's great. Just watch the size of your cuts though. That drop from 15 to 12.5 is a pretty big one. Just make sure you give yourself plenty of time to stabilise before making another cut. Maybe next time just try a 1mg cut. The lower you go the smaller you will be able to cut.

Good for you! I just knew you would finally get the picture! Keep on keeping on......The first and most important step you made that you finally realized that you were an addict. Nobody here cares whether you are an addict or not. Just that you keep with your program. Bets

Thank you. I know this will be difficult, but i have to come out of the bad 'circle' i have been in where i just grab for a pill at the first sign of trouble. Anyone else got the same feeling with anxiety that it comes, reaches a top and then levels off ?

Yep. Every morning from 3am to 11am I am in complete and utter hell with anxious/panic/nauseas feelings!! It levels off around 11am. But for those previous hrs I am hit hard but deal with it the best I can.

Diaz-pam and Benzogirl. I was wondering if you have any experience with anxiety coming, leveliing out and then stay away for awhile ?

Yesterday i had an operation removing a tumor in my colon (it was not cancer). They gave me a lot of medication before the anestisia. I told them not to give me anything with a benzo, but i have some hightened anxiety today so i am wondering what i got.

It's not too bad, so i won't be screaming for extra pills  :)

It's good that you're managing to handle your anxiety issues without more benzos. That has to be the ultimate aim for you.

I suffered on and off from anxiety, but mine was related to my insomnia. If I was sleeping okay I didn't have any anxiety. As soon as my insomnia ramped up I would get anxiety and depression. The only thing that really helped during was distraction and also making sure I adjusted my taper so my insomnia wasn't as bad, and that was usually by holding or decreasing how much I was cutting daily.
