I have horrible joint pain in my knees, shins, and hips after 7 months of w/d. Never had it this bad and am freaking out. Kind of walking strange, with my left leg being lazy. Anyone deal with this and know what to do?

Hi Gib buddy, you just described me and it freaked me out.  My left leg feels like it's going out from under me, and I will fall.  I call it my lazy leg.  I've had it for the last 6 weeks.  It's nerve stuff and muscle stuff kicking up.  Mine goes away alot, did it today early, then quit this afternoon.  I wouldn't stress over it, it will go away.  The knee stuff, hips and back is muscle cramps. Right hip woke me up this morning it was so tight.  I need to stretch, maybe you do too.  My cramps move around, they are bigtime in spine, hips now, not so bad legs, just weakness.

Gib, I'm used to having muscle spasms, have bad fibro......it took me a couple months to figure out these are "CRAMPS" and not spasms!!!  That's why the knees and hips hurt, the muscles subtly cramp over time, making them tight.  I seriously thought i was headed for a wheel chair.  When the cramps and nerve pain ease up, you will immediately lose the weakness.  It took me a few weeks before I got my first break and realized it was cramps.  You seriously need to avoid the beer.  You are getting cramps kind of late in the game, not wanting to worry you, everyone is different, but most ppl get them early on.  The reason for the weakness, benzos are serious muscle relaxers, so we basically have to relearn how to walk again, they mess up our brains so bad.  I couldn't put one foot in front of the other, I would almost fall.  I'm starting to get my walk back after 2 months of this.

A buddy on another thread said he was drinking ovaltine, has a lot of minerals, magnesium, vitamins.  I bought some yest, and drank that along with taking my magnesium.  Having a window for first time in 2 weeks, so it's working!  Are you taking magnesium?

Soak in a epsom salt bath, and do some pressure points, a tennis ball in a sock works great, you can get it under hip and gently move it to loosen up muscles.  I have a pressure point tool I use all the time.  Do some gentle stretches, when in cramps, the muscles will tighten back up fast, do for me anyway.  Too much stretching or massage makes mine flare because nerves are so inflamed, so gentle!!

Hugs, MG :smitten:
