Burning stinging tongue driving me crazy

I Have  stoped taking clonapan about two months ago about half way through tapper and my night mare my family has Ben put threw a lot I would just like to know the longest burning tongue can last and the shortest time just need some hope so if you have had this please can you let me know what it felt like and how long.thank you any input would be great.i hope I will be able to help people threw this I feel alone most of the time.

Nobody can answer than for you. I know that is not what you want to hear but it is the reality. I have and have had similar questions...we all have....How long will this last and is this symptom permanent.

 

When I am overwhelmed with anxiety and panic that it will last forever and frantically thrash around trying to fix a symptom....which incidentaly creates more stress and the symptom usually gets worse....I ask myslef one simple question...

 

"Did I have this symptom before benzos?"

 

This leads to the next question, if I have not had t his symptom before benzos, is it a common symptom for people in w/d or could it be something else. For example I had tinnitus during w/d...so I went to the doctor and she confirmed it was not w/d but an infection. If my doctor can;t find anything wrong or cannot explain a symptom I blame it on benzos. I have so far been right as most of the weird symptoms have eventually gone away.

 

Of course this is an over simplistic way of dealing with things and it isn't perfect, but most of the time it has worked to my advantage to think this way. The calmer I am the less my symptoms flare the quicker they heal.

 

Burning is very common in w/d. Unless you have developed a food allergy (not intolerance) Which a doctor can easily do a skin test to determine, it is most likely w/d. It will go away when it goes away. It sucks, but that's w/d for you

Hi , not sure if we can compare because I'm a bad cold turkey case. i want to give you hope,

my burning tongue and mouth startet at around 6 weeks off and lasted for about 4 weeks.

 

fresh ginger sliced, bring to the boil, a spoon of honey and some cayenne pepper will

give you relief , in case yours is as bad as mine was.

 

However just to let you know , its temporary and will pass, hope i could help you.
