Does anyone feel like they've had 50 concussions?

I'm in a setback caused by a number of things and I'm so concerned that three months in I feel like I have an additional concussion every day. It's getting worse and worse but I've also tried some supplements that maybe causing it. I have no hope because it feels like my brain is dying. If I try to get out of bed now it feels like my brain has been hit by a shovel 100 times. I doesn't hurt I just can't think and am disoriented and lose touch with reality. Please tell me this is normal. Everyone is daubing to see a neurologist but I had this in withdrawal three years ago just not this bad. Progressively worse over the last three months.

Is my setback from lidocaine getting worse because I took supplements or is my brain dying?  Every day for three months it's gotten worse and I feel like I have a new concussion every day like my frontal lobe is a solid brick I can't think through and so disorienting and lose touch with reality. Everyone wants me to see a neurologist. I had some of this in withdrawal but this is ten times worse. Bedridden after three months of downward spiral.

I agree. It might be wise to see a neurologist, if only to ease your fears. If you have no history of head injuries, YES this could be withdrawal, but it might not be, too.

If the neurologist cannot find anything wrong, then you can relax your worrying about your brain dying. (By the way, withdrawal does NOT cause the brain to die. It causes a form of temporary damage only.)

there may be facility that has a more "open" MRI. I was given this option a few weeks ago when I had a MRI. Although I did not choose it, they are for people who are claustrophobic. They offered me a valium, but I quickly refused.

I have this all the time. I am improving in all other areas though. I didn't have these types of brain symptoms until I was at least a year off, I think. To me it feels like my brain can't catch up to what I'm doing... as though I'm able to handle more stimulus now on a stress-response level (more GABA, less glutamate overall), but my brain can't quite process everything yet and gets confused and disoriented. Very Alzheimer's-like, with a sensory processing disorder thrown in as well. It definitely feels like brain damage to me.

If you get an MRI done, let us know... I wouldn't be surprised if we have areas of inflammation or lesions in our brains as we heal. I'd get one if I had good insurance, just to know.

Love,

m

I have wondered about lesions.  I don't think benzos cause lesions-- a ton of buddies have gotten MRIs during w/d and no one has reported lesions.

accord- how long have you been off? How did they diagnose you with dementia basedon MRI? I am going to wait until I am 12-18 mos off before I get an MRI.  If cog fog does not lift in that time frame, I will be able to point to something else. I think it's important to wait a bit post jump before turning to an MRI. This is what my neuropsych said at least.

I took these pills for 4 years. For the year saw standard 2.5 mg - 50. Not every day, take every day, occasionally, when there was tension. Very good help at first, then dosage was the growth, at a time could drink 5mg. Took 2 times a week, not more. Well, then it was a very bad throw this poison. Was in a wild delirium. MRI done and the photographs showed that the demyelinating process of the brain, hydrocephalus ....

it has been proved that the benzo causes brain damage!

Actually I can think of 3 buddies who have had lesions show up on their MRI. It often leads to a diagnosis of MS, which seems to be a common misdiagnosis for benzo withdrawal. Because our central nervous system is temporarily screwed up, we share a lot of the same symptoms as those with CNS diseases and disorders. Try not to worry. In time our brains will heal... it is unlikely that any of this damage is permanent.

I know there is no way out. I've taken various supplements to sleep because now I have delusions all night from sleep deprivation and I know every time I take something it is causing more damage. Brain can't heal either way. I'm just waiting to become a veg

I am sorry to hear that. So what is the treatment and prognosis for benzo-induced hydrocephalus?

This is a complex question., I was hospitalized, then the pills prescribed by a doctor. Our doctors are elderly people who work for pennies, young professionals do not exist. Young did not go into medicine. It's Russia .... The brain - a complex unexplored part of the body. Symptoms I have exactly the same as they say on the website.
