Ask him for the Valium trial. The only thing he can do is say no. I would bring the manual with you. Don't forget--the translation is about 36 mg of V. Maybe 37.

The Valium made me depressed, but I did a direct crossover, not a gradual one.  So, I'm not the best authority.  Since you seem to be suffering so much doing what you're doing, you might as well try something different.  You can't expect to get different results continuing to do the same thing.  On the other hand, you know what to expect with the taper you are doing.  Whatever you decide, I recommend against doing a direct crossover.  The reason being, according to what I've read on BB, is that the Valium takes a while to build up in your system.  So, if you stop the Xanax, you won't have enough Valium to cover the withdrawal.

Personally, I tried Valium, I tried liquid Ativan, and in the end, I just went back to Ativan pills.  I'm having a compounding pharmacy make them, cutting them by 10 percent every 10 - 14 days, per the Ashton method.  This is what I will continue to do until I am off.  I might speed it up if I'm doing well.  The cut from .5 to .45 made me severely depressed for 5 days, and then I had two windows!  Go figure!

I'll take em'!

Do you think it will make me weepy?

Jerry:

I'm on 70 mg of it and feel very happy and mellow. But I did a gradual C/O. I think you might regret it if you did the C/O all at once. No more ups and downs. Just very steady. Jerry, you weepy? he he. I highly doubt it.... :smitten:
