Started cross over Loraz to Diaz, getting breathing symptoms

I posted last week about doctor wanting me to cross over straight to Diazepam from Lorazepam. I rang him last Wednesday and he agreed to let me do a gradual cross over. He even admitted he hadn't a great deal of experience with long term benzo withdrawal and was happy to let me do it my way which is great.

I decided to hold till yesterday as we were going away for the weekend. While we were away I split my dose of Lorazepam. I had been taking it all in the evening but getting some interdose withdrawal so I changed to half in the morning and half in the evening, much better.

Yesterday I started cross over by substituting half of my evening dose with equivalent Diaz. Since then I have been getting unpleasant symptoms. It's like feeling a pressure on my chest and I can't get enough breath. I had this before after Loraz cuts but not for a while. Since I haven't actually cut, only substituted are these symptoms normal? Is it because the Diaz has a longer half life and needs time to build up? It's tolerable, just, but how long will it last?

I also had a bad migraine last night and feel rather headachey today. I was getting less migraines since I started my taper so hoping cross over doesn't bring them back as it's the main reason why I really want to continue this.

I guess I just want to hear other people's experiences when crossing over. I had a geat weekend and was feeling so good after splitting the dose. Hate this roller coaster! :(
