I read so much on this board of people who are months out from the jump and still struggling so much. For those of you who have jumped have the syx started to diminish over time after the jump.... like things getting better each month even if syx are still there....are there ANY improvements? Jeesh, this board is as depressing as the wd board....even worse bc the healing should begin by now?? Or are we seeing the minority of bbs who still struggle and those who are getting better are on their merry way? Looking for some hope post-taper...... :-\

You haven't taken a benzo in 3 days? The benzos are still in your system. The real fun started for me at 7 days out. Put me in a psych ward. By 7 days the benzos have normally left your body. I can tell you that I am making very very gradual and slow improvements at just over 4 months out. It's hard, but I'm getting there.

No. I am still tapering. I am at 1mg of Xanax daily as you can see by my signature. I have way into Jan 2015 before I can jump. Just looking for some hope post taper. I guess I ll just stay away from this board.

Hi Grinch,

If you remember me, somewhere at the end of August I wanted to jump from 1mg of Valium and I was asking the forum for help because my symptoms were very acute.

Well, today is exactly 4 weeks since I jumped.

Actually, I didn't jump at 1mgV.  I decided to go further as I kept reduced the doses by 0.25 mg every week, for three more weeks until I reached 0.25 mg. As a matter of fact, my symptoms started subsiding once I continued tapering.

During the first two weeks after I jumped the symptom levels remained the same as they were for the last three weeks before the last dose, however, they were MUCH LESS  than they were back in August when I was holding at 1 mgV.

During the third week I started noticing some improvements - better sleep( 8-10 hours every third day, other days 4-5 hours), no more nausea, no depression in the mornings, more functional in general.

And during the last  week I had much more improvements- I had a very decent sleep (for about 9-10 hours) for the last four days, my dizziness was only in the mornings, after breakfasts and lasted for about two hours, the body burning was not that intense like before and lasted for a few hours also. I started driving my car and went shopping on my own. I still have a hard time shopping at big stores like Walmart or other big grocery stores, but I noticed that I didn't have a problem shopping at smaller stores( LOFT for example).

Also, I started watching movies on my tablet while before I couldn't watch anything at all. One of my worst symptoms is my bladder irritation which may appear at any time, but for the last five days it didn't bother me( hopefully not anymore or at least not that often).

Other benzo symptoms that are still present but I do not have them that often and they are not that intense anymore - benzo flu, abdominal pain, adrenaline rushes, fatigue, etc. I have some more symptoms but they don't bother me for now because I know they will get better in some more time( skin, hair, weight loss, etc.)

I know I am still at the very beginning of my recovery and I may have some nasty setbacks later on, but for now I have much more hope since I can already see some improvements.

That's all I can say for now, but if you have any specific questions, I will be more than happy to answer you.

Love

Anet
