I just have a question. Been on .125mg ativan for three days, I take it once in the morning.I only used a high dose 1mg of ativan for 2 weeks and then just kept going lower, kinda randomly untill now at my lowest point and 4 weeks in.Is this low enough to jump???

If it were me, I would hold for at least 7-10 days and see how you feel than cut once more to .0625 (1/2 of where you are) hold again for a week at least and then depending on how you feel you could jump. That's what I would do anyway.

My .0625's aren't perfect either but I am not sure this really makes that huge of a diff when the amt is so low anyway. If I get close, I go with it. Some people crush the tab and then divide the powder into two with a razor blade. Sounds crazy but it works towards the end. You could always jump at .125, some do and do ok. I guess my thinking is one more week at .0625 won't hurt and may just make the jump a little more tolerable....even if the dose isn't exact for this week.

I also see people dividing their dose, I have not.I just take it once A day....is that ok considering I was a pretty short term user

Hi Marie - I personally wouldn't be able to jump from .125mg, with that being said, you need to weigh the pros and cons of being on the drug a little longer as opposed to jumping.

I would err on the side of caution since you are already symptomatic which leads me to believe you are already physically dependant.

Even if your dose isn't perfectly even, I would go down to .0625 for 7-10 days and perhaps even then go to .032 for another 7-10 days. Anything that would make your landing a little smoother. IMO, at this point and extra 14-20 days isn't going to add to your dependency it will likely just make your post jump less intense.

Also, there is a board dedicated to Ativan that you may want to ask on. You'll likely get more answers. You can find the thread under Support Groups: Tapering off Ativan

The only reason people split their dose is bc they suffer from extreme interdose wd....syx in between doses.....but if you aren't having trouble with that than you don't need to.

My interdose withdrawal is just tingling/buzzing or muscle spasms here and their, and when I cut I get about 1 or 2 nights of insomnia. ..
