Hi! Good Morning!

I'm New to this site but i do get advice from other forums

Online like BL and DF. But sometimes, those have too much talk on illegal substances rather than prescription medications. Which always deviates the conversation, because it seems like everyone became a ___________ activist.

But I'm happy i found this site. Hope to meet some Interesting people. Since this seems like a serious site, I'll just say i suffer from. Depression, PTSD, GAD & BPD.

So thanks for letting join

Hi, BeefyNY.

Welcome to benzobuddies. Glad you found us.  :)

You will find a lot of information and support here regarding benzodiazepines.  You mentioned you've been diagnosed with Depression, PTSD, GAD & BPD. Are you currently taking benzodiazepines?

Yes, our site is geared toward medications, in particularly benzos. However, we do have discussions about other types of prescription medications. Once you get settled in and provide more information, we can help direct you to particular discussions on the forums.

A good resource about benzodiazepines is the Ashton Manual. Here is a link to the manual: Professor Ashtons Manual  It’s great for learning about these meds and for taper plans. Ashton recommends reducing between 5 - 10% every 10/14 days.

You'll find a great community of people here who will support and encourage you. Feel free to check out the forum and to post to any of the dedicated boards.

In addition to the Ashton Manual, here are some other resources:

For tapering advice, post here: General Taper Plans

For support with any symptoms you may have, post here: Withdrawal Support

Please add a signature (history of medication/doses etc). It will help members give you relevant advice. This link will show you how to Create a signature

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Hi!

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm 32y.o. now and I've been on some form of paychiatrist medications since I was 14y.o.

Right now I'm on Lexapro 20mg and Diazepam 10mg 2x a day. I just got put back on the valium. From dec '13-jun '14 I was on diazepam 10 1x a day. But that psych office closed and last week I went to see a new psychiatrist. It was the weirdest session because this older psychiatrist had 3 interns shadowing him and another psychiatrist just taking notes and asking me minor questions.

So they put me back on Lexapro. But now I have to take valium once in the morning and another one as needed. And ambien cr to sleep. I also take hydroxizyne 25mg 3x a day.

I want to switch to xanax. But because i just started seeing this psychiatrist, I don't want to start messing around too much with my meds.

Like they say, "If it's not broken, don't fix it."

I'm very happy with my current med regimen.

Hi, BeefyNY.

You stated you are "very happy with my current med regimen." Are you interested in tapering off of Valium (Diazepam) and Ambien? Our site is geared toward coming off these types of meds.
