Hi, I was formerly Beth Cornwall but would now like to return as I'm suffering a protracted withdrawal at nearly two years off a cold turkey after forty years of benzos. I left to try and stop myself reading the negative posts and thought I was recovering but find I am needing the support again as my symptoms of withdrawal have intensified at this time. My story can be read at www.beatingbenzos.simplesite.com.  Thank you

Hello KernowBeth,

Welcome back to the forum, I'm very sorry to hear that you are still suffering withdrawal effects.  For some, healing can take longer, much longer then we would like.

There are many posts here on the forum to read that are not negative,  as you know from your past membership a good place to read is the Success Stories.  I spent many long night (and days) reading the stories on that board so that I would keep believing in my healing.

You will also receive support from others on the Protracted board. I'll give you links to both of them.

We'll be here for you until you heal, and you will heal.  The body is amazing and can recover from even long term use like yours.

Sorry for the delay. I have tendonitis in both wrists and thumbs so typing is difficult  :(  No doubt yet another withdrawal symptom! I'm also in a deep, dark wave with many new symptoms that make me think things are a-changing. I will write when I can as I have so much to say  :D

Sorry to hear that. I cold turkeyed but was in very bad tolerance so the only way was off. I thought I was doing well at a year off but the second year has been awful and full of physical symptoms. I do get some windows and even thought I was almost recovered about three months back but this last lot started six weeks ago and is wearing me out. Spoke to Bliss today and she does wonders to keep me positive this far off. We will heal and have to accept but it's hard, so hard.

Hello Beth

I'm sorry you have been hit with symptoms again. I'm still struggling too at 24 months off. From what I have found out, its common to have symptoms this far out. I know it's hard to believe we will heal, but the evidence is there that we will.

Love from Kit

Hi Beth

I'm sorry you are having such a bad time. I guess we never know just what will happen next.  I hope you will get another window real soon and it will last for a long time.

I just slept for 3 days and 3 nights!! Crazy!!  :idiot:

Hugs from Scotland
