Almost done. X crossover to V

Question, anyone out there try a crossover to valium at the end of there taper and have any sucsess? The xanax packs almost to much of a quick punch (funny i say that now when 8mg never phased me) I feel almost worse when I dose and of course when I miss a dose. Just thinking out loud here but maybe a sub of half and half might work? Yes the devil you know, but seriously I am ready to step it up. Today I was given 5mg diazapams and trazadone my tinitus had gotten so bad it was causing hearing issues and after 5 months of screaming in my head we will see. I will be treading lightly using the V on a day to day trial and cutting my xanax down to .25. As for trazadone I dont know. Any advice?

At lunch today and feeling remarkably better! My id withdrawal has almost completely gone, the tinitus is hardly there. I will see how the next 2 days go but right now I think this was the right thing for me. Dry cutting and multiple daily doses was just to much for me at this point.

Glad to hear it's going well so far! I did crossover from X to V. I just immediately stopped taking my 1 MG of X and started 3 MG of V. I think the approximate Valium equivalency to 1 MG of Xanax is actually 20 MG, so if that's true my benzo dose was cut wayyyy down. It hit me pretty hard but that was just my personal experience. Everyone is different though and I've since adjusted to the 3 MG. Good luck and keep us updated!

Yea the equivalent amout of .5 xanax is 10mg valium if I was reading the ashton chart correct. I only cut the .25 and added in the V. So far so good. Gonna take this last bit slow.

Happy to update that so far this crossing over has been going much better than I expected. The first night or two was a bit rough but I feel more of a constant leveling off as the days go by. I am feeling less of a whiplash from interdose wd from my xanax and being able to get out and do some fun things that I haven't done in months because my mood was so unstable. Also using the Trazodone for sleep has helped. It is still rough but its beginning to feel less like huge waves and windows and more like little variations in mood and physical sxs. Thats much better than being overwhelmed by every little thing all the time.

I'm gonna ask my doc to let me take some Valium for a spin.  Being level and having less wiplash sounds great.  Does the V seem to make u feel Depressed at all?  Even X, when it first hits me, can make me feel a bit down, because it hits so hard...

 

Do you feel it when you take it?  Do you get the swiftness of the way X hits you, or is it more mellow and relaxing?

Definitely more mellowing and relaxing. But for the first 10 days or so, you can get sedated. But it will go away. No swiftness however. But you don't need that, because Valium happens to stay in your system until you die. LOL!

I don't feel it like when I take my xanax there isn't a swiftness it seems to just bring you up to a steady more relaxed cliff to navigate down from.

 

I wouldn't just jump off the xanax completely. Look up the equivalence charts and slowly drop the xanax as you crossover to the V per the ashton manual I droped half and added the equal amount of V for that cut. You may want to try cutting less  about a 4th of your X and add in the V that equals that and so on as you get use to the dose and the V builds up Imo, There are crossover charts I just went with what I felt I could handle.
