Relieving withdrawal symptoms

[AN...]

Recommended Posts

Hello!  I am 7 days cold turkey from Xanax, and tapering off of Lexapro.  I was on a low dose of Xanax once a day, .5mg.  I am having withdrawal symptoms and have been keeping a video diary to keep track of all I am experiencing.  I know to expect just about anything at this point. The insomnia is annoying.  I have not slept a night in 3 days.  During the day I might crash and get a nap, but thats about it.  I am not experiencing any mental issues, not stressing at all.  But, the major headaches and the extreme nausea and the sweating is a bit much. I have been trying to just deal with it.  Wanted to detox completely and not take anything over the counter to relieve these symptoms, but does anyone have any advice what I can do?  Anything that works for you?

U can take advil or something for the headaches. My friend here uses grapes for nausea. I eat lots of them and i am not nauseous much at all.

Not much is going to help the headaches unless u take something. Sweating...nothing is going to help that im aware of.

I sweat a lot as well from withdrawal.. I shower whenever I feel like it.  Usually I'll shower and actually clean myself just once per day, but if I've been sweaty/clammy I like to jump in for 5 minutes just to cool off.  I wear a tank top and shorts in the house even though it's starting to get cold out.  I also have a fan blowing on me while I'm sitting at the computer or watching TV.  If you have some hair, you can always just wet it down.  Also, wet washcloths seem to help some people.

Headaches - ibuprofen, tylenol, advil, etc

Sleep - diphenydramine hcl - 50 mg seems to work for me.  I only take this under extreme conditions though (like if I haven't slept for 2 nights straight).  I'm sure you could build up a tolerance if you took it every night.

Hope I could help!  :)
