I took Tylenol when I had a cold and it didn't make anything worse. I think you'll be okay. Maybe just take a low dose and see how you feel.

It's ok, as long as you don't have a stomach ulcer. My doctor used to tell me I can take 3 Advil instead of the 2 that OTC recommend (don't remember the dose off hand). Just take it with something in your stomach to avoid ulcer risk.

Advil is a brand name for ibuprofen.  I take ibuprofen for head and neck pain, 3 at a time usually.  It works, and I've never had any problems with it.
