8 years of pain. help. if i could type tears i would.

joing benzobuddies because I need to. I have no support. I have been PRESCRIBED benzo's since 2007. I started off at 1 mg Xanax at age 17, I am now 24 and taking 99 MG's of Diazepam a day, and in extreme tolerance withdrawal.  im MID - taper, but I am using a doctor that ive never seen, I am very scared, no one will help me, ive been through the ringer, medical detox in 2008, Didn't work lasted 24 days Wide awake in benzo HELL and said Fuck it give me a Xanax , ive been stuck on Benzo's for too long, im severely depressed,, anxious dp, dr, cant go to the bathroom, everything, fear, AHH., haven't been able to work in 2 years, CONSTANT pain, the pain, Never STOPS  I am at the end of my rope. everyone thinks I'm nut's, also took Ambien for years, 10 mg night, took Valim 40 mgs a day , clonazepam 4 mg a day, Xanax xr 6 mg's a day. Xanax immediate release 8 mgs for over 2 years , 125 mgs librium, that's just a few of my prescriptions over the years. I took mostly high doses of Xanax. brothers and sisters think I should go to the psych ward, I think I just have a lot of friends and family who don't understand, it's not happening to them/ long story short I bounced off 8 mg's of Xanax a day in august of 2012, to 100 mg Librium, I lost 30 lbs and felt like I was on another planet, I have read the ashton manual, ive tried multiple psych doctos but they just want to brush it off or they don't know , one doctors jaw dropped when I told him how much I was taking, and said , " that's enough to stop your heart " I said, Well I take it everyday and Still cant Sleep., I have yet to find one around my area who is willing to take on this. any Help, is Appreciated. I am so sorry if you are going through this too. these drugs have taken my Life away. I JUST WANT TO FEEL THE WAY I DID BEFORE I TOOK BENZODIAZEPINES.

First, I just want to tell you you're going to be fine. You will get through this. I'm really sorry you're suffering so badly. I was polymedicated starting at the age of 17, so I know how you feel. You're much younger than I am now, and I'm so glad you're ready to come off these drugs. You're going to be okay, and you're going to have a wonderful life ahead of you without needing benzos. Hang in there.

 

A good resource about benzodiazepines is the Ashton Manual. Here is a link to the manual: Professor Ashtons Manual  It’s great for learning about these meds and for taper plans. Ashton recommends reducing between 5 - 10% every 10/14 days.
