Miss a dose

This question must have been asked 1000 times, here goes 1001:  If I miss a dose, do I just wait until my next dose, or replace the missed dose immediately?  I am taking Valium and missed my 10 mg night time dose.  So this morning when I looked in my pill box and saw I missed the dose, I took my 10 mg morning dose PLUS 5 mg (something to offset the missed dose).  Well, I was groggy as hell at work, but this afternoon I am feeling better.  I will be taking my midday dose of 8.5 mg but do not intend to replace the rest of the 5 mg dose.  I figure it made me groggy when I did it in the a.m. and a one-time missed dose, maybe my body will not notice with Valium.

I've skipped 10 mg of V doses a few times, and I did not take an extra dose in the am. I didn't even feel any different.
