I just started my taper.  But long before I have been experiencing extreme virtigo, head pressure and bright lights in my vision.  I feel like I got realllly high and never came back down.  I had been on .5mg kpin for 5 years.  Was this tolerance w/d and will it go away after I've been sober long enough?

Yes, it could be tolerance, but you might want to get medically checked out just to make sure. Im of the "beter safe than sorry" group.

Having said that.....everything you listed is known to be a symptom of benzo withdrawal. And if this is withdrawal, it should all get better in time.

How is your taper going?

Well today is my first day.  Went from .5 to .25.  Will probably be a few weeks of tapering till' I start to feel the madness.  I'm hoping my Remeron will take care of most of that because I can't miss work

You might not want to lower the dose that much. 50 percent is big, especially if u want to stay functional for work.

Ditto on that one. It'll get to you, sooner or later. There is no escape route for benzos.

Yeah I'm curious when it'll hit.  I actually felt better than normal today.  Not as drugged feeling.  I am really relying on Remeron to keep the w/d symptoms away.  Does EVERYONE have to go through hell after being on Kpin?  Even at just .5mg how long will it last?  Is it actually better on the other side??

ABSOLUTELY Tolerance withdrawal. You might want to go up to .75 for 20 days to offset tolerance. Then taper down by .125 from there every 21 days or so.
