I didn't have sweats but man, did I have the chills.  I was an ice cube for 2 months and had my little heater running throughout the summer.  Now at 6 months off, I can go outside on a windy chilly day with no problems.  Maybe once in a blue moon I may get so cold that nothing can warm me up but it's rare.

I had it for quite a while. Chills are gone. Sweats show up at 3 am. One thing I do is eat an alkaline diet (vs acidic). I also cross reference the alkaline foods with "cooling foods". I make juice from items on both lists. If I miss my juice for a couple of days the hot flashes come right back. If you get the chills, try some cinnamon tea - the cinnamon is a warning food and the hot water will warm you up. You can google "warming foods" and "cooling foods" as well as alkaline foods. For the alkaline you can get pH test strips at the health food store - this will tell you how alkaline/acidic you are. My first test I got the worst score possible - very acidic.

Thanks so much.  I was beginning to think it was something else. I must say depression and anxiety have never been part of my problem...either on benzos or after them...but the physical symptoms are horrendous and not improving.

I'll try the acidic vs. alkaline process. Thanks.

bcdef,

Each person's symptoms are a little different. We share some things, but have differences. Its nothing to worry about. Just try to stay as comfortable as you can while this is bothering you.

I had horrible sweats for several months. I'd go through three nightgowns a night, and have to change the sheets every day. It was miserable, but it just disappeared one day. I often felt either too cold or too hot.

Mental symptoms are very common...anxiety, depression and insomnia. Coming off a benzo can be very challenging.

I commend you for doing it - keep up the good work, and hang in there. It does get better, it really does.
