I joined BenzoBuddies to get some more helpful information on Benzodiazepine's :)

I've been taken various Benzos for a few years now, usually to help with anxiety or sleep but nothing really seems to work, plus it's hard to get a decent benzo scripted in the UK to help with insomnia and sleep disorders - they tend to put you on Anti-Psychotic's (currently on Thorazine for it) for it.

Currently take Temazepam (which was a two week dose only) and did very little but the occasional yawn.

I dabble in Etizolam and Diclazepam for anxiety relief which works wonders but would rather stay away from RC ones.

Hello ghostfreak,

Welcome to BenzoBuddies.

Our members will be happy to share their experiences with benzos.  I want to caution you that benzos are highly addictive and insidious medications, even if taken intermittently.  A dependency may occur if they are dosed this way.  After a dependency occurs, a taper is the best way to discontinue the medication.  Benzo use actually alters our central nervous system.  Recovery can take many months if not years and the symptoms can be extremely life altering and painful.  If I were in your shoes and I had the opportunity to stop taking a benzo, I would do so and search for natural ways to help deal with my anxiety.  Good luck.

Here are some helpful links:

You can post a topic about tapering on our General Taper Plans Board.  The second pink-highlighted post explains the three accepted taper methods.  Also:

The Ashton Manual is an authoritative source on what to expect in withdrawal and recovery.  Dr. Ashton is an expert in the field.  She describes and explains withdrawal symptoms, and there is also a section with withdrawal/taper schedules.

Members discuss their symptoms on Withdrawal Support (during your taper).

Please take the time to Create a Signature.  This will allow others to see where you are in the process so they can better support you.

Welcome to the board!

Hi goastfreak,

First thought which enters my mind when i hear people taking Etizolam

or Diclacepam is.... are they getting it on prescription or via the internet ?

All Benzos are serious buisness, but the ones you mentioned must be special

cause i've seen people really struggling badly to get off this crap.

Enough now, just a little warning . Hopefully you will decide on a sensible taper

and find another solution to your problem, as Juliea suggested.

warm welcome and good luck,

Claudia. :)
