45 days free of klonopin

Well, it's been 45 days since the jump and I really wish I could say I'm not having any issues but that's just not the truth. I hoped that after a nice slow taper I would feel great within a couple weeks and things would just improve from there.

What has really happened is I've ended up like most people post jump. I went straight into acute withdrawal and have stayed there ever since. I've have all the symptoms in the book. About two weeks ago I started having partial windows a few hours each morning.

The really nice thing is that shortly after the jump, I had a cloud of depression lift that had been over me so long that I didn't even realize how miserable I was! I hurt a lot most days but I have so much hope and peace that it makes everything else alright! My wife of 11 years says she doesn't even recognize me. We are definitely a lot happier.

As for healing, it is slow. I can see a gradual improvement in baseline over the last month or so. It probably hasn't help that I've been working 6 - 12 hour shifts a week for the last two weeks and I have 2 to go. Stress has been really high too. The really cool thing is I have been able to accept the process and I am encouraged by the hope of how things will be! Those daily two hour windows are really nice too.

So if you are like me and need to believe it will all end as soon as your taper is over, keep believing! Do whatever it takes to keep moving forward! Eventually we all heal!
