Have just been switched to k

I was switched to k but am to take0.25 Mgs 2 times a day for 1 week then half that for one week then off.

 

My doc is tapering me off in 2 weeks and I will be liming from 0.25 Mgs k what do I do?

If you are taking .25 mg of K twice a day that equals 10 mg of Valium. If you drop by 50% to .25 mg that equals 5 mg of V. Then he wants you to jump at 5 mg? If it were me, I would ask your doctor for refills and drop 5% every two weeks. Or find another one who is not so benzo ignorant. Doesn't he realize the troubles you are having right now? Dropping so fast and so much is just ridiculous, especially considering  your current condition. And jumped from 5 mg of V is equally ridiculous. If possible, jump at .0625 mg of K. You can buy .125 mg of K in wafers, and cut them in half. You need a script for that and your pharmacy may have to special order them. Mine had them in stock. Also I was wondering since I was just directly switched from 8 mg v to 0.5 mg a day (so 0.25 am and 0.25 pm of k) shouldn't I actually be feeling better not worse since the k is stronger?

 

Or am I now wd Ing from the v?

I am just feeling. Dry confused with dp and dr

Will I still go they wd from the v?

Unfortunately I ended up in the hospital over night and they forced me to take 2 Mgs k. Even then I didn't feel wonderful but now have dropped me from this one time dose of 2 Mgs k to .5 a day

 

So am I feeling now both v and k wd?

 

I went in for fing heart issues and they form Oned me.

 

So what that heck is going on now?

.5 K = 10mg of V...im not sure what your normal dose of V is but i will look.

I hope they did not do another direct cross over and just stopped the V...i think thats what got u in bad shape last time.

 

People do it, its just not as smooth i think.

I just think it will take more time to adjust to the V. Since K is so strong and usually leaves your body after 3 days or so, the V hasn't had enough time to catch up. So in between those times, the K has fully left your system and the V isn't fully into your bloodstream. And it's 20X weaker than K. It will take about 10 days to do so, so you are going thru a mini withdrawal. It will settle down, so have to fears. Every day it will get better. ~~ Bets

Give it some time, it will build up in your system. Im not sure what you are expecting to feel better though?

I guess I was just hoping for a decrease in my anxiety levels. The v was making me really sick so I has to get off. So I was put onto 0.5 Mgs k a day instead but since k is stronger I would have thought it would have helped more with my anxiety and wd sx.

 

I do feel a bit better then on v but still really symptatic and I don't really understand why.

Ruby there is no escaping some sx during a wd. Give the K a little more time and youll prob start to feel some anxiety relief.

Ya ill bet the 2mg of K got rid of the anxiety. I dont think its the cause of feeling wd...uve been tossed around like a ping pong ball between 3 diff benzos. Thats probably one reason ur body is a little confused!

I just couldn't stay on the v any longer. Even the psych doc said I was having a bad reaction to it.

 

Just sucks cause I was hoping the k would put me out of withdrawal.

 

I do feel better then I did but don't understand why I still have wd since I switched from a weaker to a stronger benzo.

 

Or is my brain still stuck at a higher dose from the Ativan.

What the hell is happening to me. Now taking .25 of k does nothing at all for me and I feel totally crazy
