Hi germangirl

I am not quite what you want but I have not met another Buddie with my pattern of symptoms

3 month taper - no symptoms

6 months - depression only/no physical symptoms

12 months - physical symptoms only/no depression

Forget what your doctor says. They don't know a lot about benzo withdrawal and in my case diagnosed ME.

Just because your symptoms are atypical does not mean it is not benzo withdrawal.

It is bad enough going through this agony without doctors making things worse.

Rant, rant, rant, having a bad day.

There, bashed a few doctors.   might get into trouble now!!!

I really only have mental anguish and depression it's total torture. Makes me want to give up the fight. See no end to the suffering and I'm only 4 months off. Suffering longer than I took meds this time. Really scared I'm going to do something permanent.

Hi Benzomama.

The times I've quit and reinstated my symptoms have been mostly mental up to the point of wanting to die, with a few headaches and lethargy as physical symptoms, maybe some blurred vision sometimes, but never anything that noticeable (or maybe I had them but didn't notice them?).

I know we shouldn't be prescriptive, but I sort of agree with lookingforward about what a doctor says, because unless they're benzo specialists they seem to know very little about benzos, and even if they are specialists everyone's unique so we can have different symptoms between people. There's no guarantee that person A will get the same symptoms as person B.

I hope your symtptoms end as soon as possible as I know it's crappy when our mind is what's affected the most.

I completely agree....even a benzo-wise doctor cannot know everything. But most of all, everyone IS unique! What I went through doesn't mean you will go through anything similar. This is why we recommend not comparing...its a way to possibly get overly upset about something you needn't be upset about. In other words, GG, just because someone else "only had mental symptoms" doesn't mean that what happened to them will happen to you.

You are you, special and unique, and your recovery will be different from other peoples.
