My main reason I joined  is to aid in support.

Over the last 3 years I've taken diazepam, alprazolam, lorazepam, temazepam and zolpidem. My actual addiction started a little over  a year and a half ago with  temazepam being the main culprit.  My usage  started off 3-5 times a week and eventually turned into everyday which lasted around 7 months including my 2 month taper.

I guess I'm more or less off benzos...last Wednesday I celebrated being off them for 1 month with ironically my original dose of temazepam,  I was dependent on 15mg.

I  have also been on pregabalin for the entire time that I've had my benzo addiction  which is probably why I've had little difficulty along with using other controversial methods to get through the withdrawal.

Welcome to Benzobuddies

Congratulations on being benzo free. Try not to use rescue doses. How are you feeling, It generally takes some time for the CNS to recover. I will put a link to the Ashton manual here for you: Professor Ashtons Manual It is an authoritative resource on benzodiazepines and withdrawals

Here is link to the Post withdrawal support Post withdrawal recovery support board

This will take you to our other meds board if you want information on Pregabalin (Lyrica)

Other Medications Board

Greetings back BenzOwned,

Quite a journey i guess, how are you feeling ? Withdrawl (wd) can be ever

so hard and painful, but it does get better and better as the months go by.

I would try to push through this crap and never touch a Benzo again.

good to have you with us,

and all the best

Hello BenzOwned,

I too would like to welcome you to the forum  :)

Congratulations on being benzo free!

I agree with the others, I would also try to avoid taking rescue doses if at all possible as this could interfere with your healing. If sleep is a problem perhaps you might learn some tips by reading at The Insomnia Board here, I will give you a link to it. Sleep problems are a very common benzo withdrawal effect but normal sleep will reassert itself once you begin to heal.

I'm glad you found us and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the welcome and I apologize for my subject line dry humor.

My benzo at the 1 month mark wasn't a rescue dose. I'm actually feeling pretty good as the withdrawal has  been pretty easy,  mainly just physical symptoms such as some muscle and joint pain.  I didn't have any  noticeable increase in anxiety and my  sleep hasn't really been a problem as  I've been averaging about 5 hours  although it probably wouldn't be  considered healthy sleep but it's beats having no sleep at all.

I'll be sure to add a signature later when I have more time.

Yep mainly just to celebrate and  curb a craving I've had  for the last month, that was 9 days ago so I'm still doing good. I'd still be taking them but I believe I  hit tolerance or whatever it's called when you are getting withdrawal symptoms even though your  taking your  normal dose.  I wasn't willing to increase the dosage  because I knew the withdrawal was going to be rough  so I knew I had  to break my dependence while it's still small with the plan (hope?) to go back to 1-2 times a week like it was before.
