I got a severe cold and I haven't slept in two days. I drank some peppermint tea and now my anxiety is through the roof I haven't hand anxiety in like 13 months. Do you think I set myself back and what can I take to ease these symptoms. They keep me up all night

Hi Tasha,

It is more than likely the cold that has set you back a bit, and it should improve once the cold has passed.  Many forum members - including myself - have noticed a big increase in symptoms (especially anxiety) when sick with a cold or flu bug.  It's almost as though we become hyper-sensitive with a virus.  It should pass within days of feeling better, so just take it a day at a time.  Get some rest and lots of fluids, and hopefully the anxiety will begin to subside soon.  I keep things very natural now when sick - honey/lemon tea, etc.  Some of the over-the-counter medications rev me up so I stay away, but everyone is different.

I hope it passes very soon for you.

All my best,

Schatje

In my opinion its not a set back, quite common for anxiety to return . it will pass and

then it might come back again, just part of this horrible game.

i would get some fresh ginger, cut in slices, bring to the boil , a bit of cayenne pepper

and a spoon of honey , will give you relief. ( for the cold )

deep belly breathing exercise , through your nose ...hold for a count of 6....and slowly

out through your mouth again, it does help if you do it right. (for anxiety)

i have been there, it will pass i can assure you, take care. :smitten:
