13 months and bad wave

[Er...]

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I was doing very well the past couple of months and I honestly thought I was done (almost) with W/D.  How naïve........a bad wave came upon me and the nerve pain and pain in some of my joints is pretty bad.  The anxiety and panic came back too.  It seems to get worse when I have a stressful day at work or when I have a very intense workout.  Any ideas on why hard physical training can make panic worse.  Yesterday was pretty frightening, it felt like I had MS.  My legs keep buckling like they were going to give out and I felt like I was going to collapse.  Very strange.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having bad days again. Maybe it's the last wave before totally healed! You were doing so fine for a long time so I'm sure you're almost done with this crap.

Im sorry to hear you're going through this. I never had waves or windows, and I can only imagine how frustrating a wave must be.

Did anything happen - like being sick or major stress - that might have triggered it?

Thanks everyone, I have been physically training much harder and have had more stress at work so perhaps that is it.  I used to be so resilient to everything, now I feel like a marshmallow.....sensitive to everything.  It is getting very old.

I can train but when I go too intense I have problems.  Also, too much stress at work is bad.  I hope this all goes away at some point.

I hope it does too. Maybe lay off the training till it passes? Not much you can probably do about work except try not to let it get to you. I used to be a delivery driver for FedEx and it was super stressful! One day I just said to myself, it's only a job and all I can do is my best. I just kept saying that to myself every time I got stressed and I was fine after a while. Hope it gets better.

Thanks Cool35.  Driving for UPS can be very stressful, they are always on you.  My nephew worked for them and it was rough.  I am back to waking up and having everything ache.  That is not a fun situation.

A bunch of us around 10-14 months out have experienced bad waves recently & a return of early symptoms or our current symptoms worsened. Lots of success stories say they got hit w/ one last bad wave then were much much better & went on to a full recovery. Hang in there.

My sxs are always intensified by my heat sensitivity. Perhaps a workout or being in a hot, stuffy room causes overheating of the body, which sets off a wave. One  member mentioned cleaning her whole house during a symptoms window and the following day getting a bad, lengthy wave.

cad...I am month 14 and dealing with sleep, anxiety and depression.  Been bad on and off for the last month so I don't know whether to call it a wave.  It is unsettling to not know if and when this will resolve.  I just try to move through each day the best I can.  I have a demanding job and can't just call in sick.  Actually, the distraction is helpful.  Also, exercise has been good for the mood.  I would assume I am not suffering from clinical depression and that most of this is probably part of w/d.  Keep the faith and hope things improve in short order.
