New Symptom - Brain Fog

[lu...]

Recommended Posts

I have experienced various symptoms since I started tapering.  Most of which have subsided.  The latest symptom is brain fog.  I wake up OK but after taking my AM dose a brain fog sets in and stays all day.  I feel like I want to sleep but falling asleep seldom happens.

I met with my pdoc yesterday.  He really was not much help.  I asked when I should jump and he left that up to me.  He did say I was doing a good job.

Because my brain fog sets in after I take my morning dose and I am at such a low dose I am tempted to jump and see what happens.

Comments appreciated, thanks.

I think that is a fairly low dose??? Maybe someone else will respond and see if it's low enough to jump from. If it is than I say go for it.

Hey, lukebass and theGrinch.

lukebass, I jumped at .0625 mg Klonopin. A lot of folks jump at .0625.

Are you taking .034 mg twice a day (for a total of .068)? That's still pretty close to a good jumping point. If you're ready, go for it! If not, you may want to only dose at night, since the cog fog symptoms are worse after you take it.

As far as cog fog goes, it will clear up. I'm having windows where I'm better, and then I get slammed with a cog fog wave. The windows give me hope that it will completely clear up.

Good luck. You're doing great.  :)

That is a very low dose of klonopin.  I am tapering off klonopin also from 6mg daily, now at .75mg daily. My mind is clear now. Of coarse its an individuals choice, but I am thinking, give it a try. Good Luck., hope I am right behind you. Kay

Why don't you drop one of the .34 mg doses and wait and see how you feel. If you are feeling OK, then you can drop the remaining amount. But remember, it is a 50% drop. That's pretty high. Bets

Thanks for all the greats posts.

I think I will try to skip my morning dose tomorrow and see how I do.

I will continue with my PM dose until I feel I can drop it.

Thanks again.

And the last cut/jump is always 100%.  Is this too high too, Betsy?  ;)

You're at a jumping dose, IMO, Lukebass.  Cut it in half if you feel more comfortable doing so.  Congrats on almost being finished with your taper!  Well done.

Ya, the lower we get and closer to jump the higher the % is regardless. When I go from .125mg to .0625mg that is 50% then my last cut of .0625mg to 0 will be 100%.

I was on clonazapan and titrated all the way to zero but I did start feeling a lot better when I got. To the point 2 Mark . unfortunately that can be different for every single person so all you got to do is keep doing what you're doing and take it right down to zero .  Your close so I know the temptation is fierce but hold on ,keep the reduction steady , n wait for all the good things to happen.

My personal  history is a little different than some in that I was put on benzo's for restless legs which it really did nothing for.  Many here were put on the drug because of anxiety or panic attacks.  Once free of benzo's I just needed to deal with my restless legs.  Once you are free of the benzo's you will have to find a way to deal with what ever it was that caused the doctor to prescribe them in the first place.  So if it was anxiety depression or panic attacks that led you to this drug you need to research alternate ways to deal with it once you're clean.  Don't worry you'll find away and it will NOT  be through benzo's ever again.
