Hi,

Have you struggled with nausea and difficulty eating food (maybe some loss of weight) during this process? If so, what have you used or done to combat it?

Hi,

I have had weight loss and nausea and probiotics help. So does eating "easy" food, like

chicken and some vegetables. Chamomile tea helps too.

Cheers,

Freedom

Hi, For nausea, I use crystalized ginger (might cause sweating) and Sea Bands from the drug store (acupressure wrist bands). For the weight loss, I make blender drinks - some days all I can get down are liquids. One day I mashed up a cold scrambled egg very fine and blended it with almond milk - I had to do something. Feel better soon.

Many people have this during withdrawal. Weight loss is extremely common, and weight gain is less common. This is my third and last withdrawal. During my first withdrawal I got down to almost a 100 pounds. I was a walking stick. I gagged if I tried to eat anything. Finally after three months I was able to eat and  begin gaining weight. I began by eating bland food....oatmeal, cheerios, toast. I had no problem with liquids so I started to drink Ensure Plus. At 350 calories a can it was really help with weight gain.  This withdrawal I have gained almost 30 pounds in 9 months. I would try to keep small snacks by you, even eating a few bits every couple of hours is better than not eating nothing at all.

I forgot to add that I use a plant based protein power called Phood. I get it at the health food store and I use it for nutrition. I blend it with almond milk - I can swallow cold blender drinks.

I've also lost some weight during tapering and have been dealing with a queasy stomach the whole time. One thing that seems to at least temporarily settle my stomach is cherry juice -- must be 100% juice, not mixed with sugar and other additives. As soon as I take a long sip, I feel some instant relief...There's been some discussion on the Insomnia board about tart cherry juice also helping insomnia, so that could be an added bonus, although I can't be sure if it's had any positive impact on my insomnia, since it comes and goes.

I have definitely struggled with weight loss and nausea lol. I went from 280lbs to 225lbs. Not cool! I actually liked being a bigger guy. :(
